Dentons has advised Dutch pet care group Beeztees on the acquisition of Karlie Flamingo GmbH as well as the trademarks of "Karlie Flamingo" and "Karlie". The seller, Karlie Group GmbH, initiated the sale of its German core business as part of its insolvency proceedings under self-administration, with the approval of the custodian Dr. Plathner and the board of creditors. All shares in Karlie Flamingo GmbH shares have been transferred to Beeztees GmbH. Karlie will continue to operate as an independent company after the takeover, and Beeztees will support Karlie in product development.

Beeztees is specialized in the production and distribution of toys and accessories for pets. The company is headquartered in the Netherlands.

For more than 40 years, Karlie Flamingo has developed, produced and distributed various products for pets. The company ships to pet stores, home improvement stores, super market chains, and large online retailers worldwide.

Dentons partner Andreas Ziegenhagen led the cross-border team from Germany and Belgium, which advised the Beeztees Group on all legal of the transaction, including M&A, financing, tax, intellectual property and restructuring issues.
