DLA Piper acts for Cancer Research UK on lease for new research facilities

DLA Piper has acted for Cancer Research UK on a pro-bono basis on the lease of a new chemistry building at Babraham Research Campus, one of the leading centres for bioscience innovation in the UK.

Cancer Research UK has taken a 10-year lease of half of the 16,000 sq ft building, which will be occupied by Cancer Research Technology. This space will accommodate part of Discovery Laboratories, Cancer Research Technology's early-stage drug discovery operation, housing up to 30 cancer therapeutics researchers, working in both bioscience and chemistry.

Cancer Research Technology is the cancer-focused technology development subsidiary of Cancer Research UK. The company works with research scientists to advance cancer drug discoveries and inventions.

Helen Cairns and Paul Dineen led the transaction, assisted by Mark Burgess and Ben Battell.
