DLA Piper has advised the global alternative asset management firm, the Carlyle Group, on its acquisition of a majority stake in Expereo Holding.
Headquarted in Amsterdam and founded in 2004, Expereo is a global managed network operator and currently operates in 180 countries.
Carlyle will be working with Expereo to support the future growth of the Company through additional international expansion and product diversification. The equity for the Expereo-transaction is coming from Carlyle Europe Technology Partners III (CETP III). CETP III is a pan-European fund focusing on growth-oriented investments in telecoms, media and technology. This will be the first investment of CETP III.
The DLA Piper team was led by corporate partner Casper Hamersma and associates Philip Jonker, Patrick van de Ven and Patrick Gremmels. The complex transaction required a team of over 30 lawyers across DLA Piper offices in Amsterdam, Paris, London, New York, Washington, Vienna and Bangkok with expertise that included M&A, Finance,Tax, ABC Compliance, Employment, Competition and IP.
