DLA Piper advised Tilad on the acquisition of a Hermes logistics centre in Löhne

DLA Piper has advised Tilad, a multi-family office headquartered in Dubai, on the acquisition of a Hermes logistics centre in Löhne, a district of Herford, which is currently still under construction. The seller, ECE, will remain as construction manager and owner of the project until its scheduled completion in 2016.

The new centre will comprise of three interconnected buildings with a warehouse space of 100,000 m², an office space of 7,000 m² and recreational areas. The main storage area, known as the goods distribution centre, will consist of eight hall sections which will be linked to the cross-docking facility (HUB) via a connecting building that comprises of two further hall sections. The target is to achieve sustainability certification for the property in accordance with the DGNB silver-level criteria.

The logistics centre is on a long-term lease to Otto GmbH & Co. KG and will be used by Hermes Fulfilment GmbH and Hermes Einrichtungs Service GmbH & Co. KG, two members of the Hermes group of companies.
