DLA Piper has advised digital healthcare start-up, Doctena, on the structuring and legal arrangements of its latest €4.5 m financing round, enabling the company to accelerate its European expansion.
Doctena.lu website and the Doctena iPhone app form part of Luxembourg's first ever online booking system for patients in search of a doctor. Since its launch in September 2013, thousands of appointments have been organised. The app offers patients access to over 15% of active doctors in Luxembourg, representing close to 40 different specialities and 25 different languages.
The DLA Piper team was led by Luxembourg Country Managing Partner and Corporate lawyer, Catherine Pogorzelski, alongside Corporate senior associate Xavier Guzman.
Marc Molitor, Chairman and co-founder of Doctena, said: "We were impressed by DLA Piper's understanding of Doctena's activities and business needs. The team worked hard to deliver high quality work and we are grateful for their assistance in helping Doctena continue its growth ambitions."
Catherine Pogorzelski added: "Doctena is a great example of the innovation we are currently seeing in the European market. DLA Piper is committed to the start-up scene and to investing in the future. We look forward to see Doctena's continued expansion."
