DLA Piper advises Globe Tools on sale of minority stake to STIHL

DLA Piper has advised Globe Tools Group, a leading manufacturer of cordless and corded electric power tools, on the sale of a minority stake to German-based STIHL Group. The two parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction. Completion is subject to approvals from antitrust and other authorities in several countries.
 
Globe Tools is a Chinese international supplier of cordless and corded electric power tools with large market presence in North America and Europe. The company produces around 8 million cordless and corded electric products annually which generated a turnover of US$ 325 million last year. The Globe Tools Group employs some 4,000 men and women across Hong Kong, Changzhou (People's Republic of China), Mooresville/NC (U.S.A.), Newmarket/ON (Canada), Moscow and Cologne.

The STIHL Group develops, manufactures and distributes power tools for professional forestry and agriculture, as well as for garden and landscape maintenance. The firm's target markets include both the construction sector and general consumers.
