DLA Piper represented Magnum Semiconductor, Inc., a Milpitas, California-based provider of products, tools and technologies for video and content creation, in its acquisition by GigPeak, Inc., a leading supplier of advanced semiconductor communications components.

The transaction was valued at approximately US$55 million and was comprised of cash and stock. Magnum provides silicon ICs, SoCs, software and IP for the professional video and broadcast IoT camera markets. The company will add to GigPeak’s portfolio of products to enhance speed of data transmission and reduce bandwidth data consumption within a network.
