DLA Piper has advised Nuplex Industries on the acquisition of the global Nuplex Group by its competitor Advent/Allnex for an undisclosed amount.
Nuplex Industries is a globally operating producer of coating resins and texturing materials. The company hold 16 production sites in Asia, Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand, from which it supplies customers in more than 80 countries. Nuplex most recently recorded an annual turnover of USD 10 billion.
The purchaser, Allnex, is also a coating resins business and a direct competitor of Nuplex. The firm was acquired in 2013 by Advent International, a private equity investor.
DLA Piper advised on the entire coordination and handling of the international merger control procedure which was steered centrally by the firm's German offices. As a result, the European Commission has approved the takeover in accordance with the EU Merger Regulation.
