DLA Piper has advised the fund Perusa Partners Fund 2, L.P., advised by the independent Perusa GmbH, on the majority acquisition of 51 percent in MBN GmbH (MBN) in Friedberg, Bavaria. The parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.
MBN is an innovative, German company operating in the development and manufacture of LED lighting and was founded in 1988. Since 2005, MBN has specialized in LED technology and has since become one of the pioneers of the LED lighting industry. With the participation of its Austrian subsidiary, MBN’s portfolio, which includes LED luminaires as well as control systems and lighting components, is marketed worldwide.
Perusa GmbH has advised the Perusa funds since 2007. With an equity capital of approx. €350 million, the Perusa funds invest in medium-sized enterprises and business divisions in Western Europe and Scandinavia. With MBN, Perusa acquires another innovative and future-oriented company for its portfolio.
