DLA Piper advises on Sceptre Leisure restructuring

24 Feb 2015

DLA Piper has advised Duff & Phelps on the sale of Sceptre Leisure to the Gauselmann Group, which has resulted in the safeguarding of more than 350 jobs.

The financial restructuring and sale of the main trading business of the Sceptre Leisure Group was completed on 11 February 2015 by Duff & Phelps, with DLA Piper providing legal advice throughout the transaction.

The DLA Piper team advising on the restructuring was led by Chris Roberts (senior associate), and also included Bethan Moore (senior associate), Kerry Barnard (senior associate), Peter Manley (associate), Katy Seago (associate) and Anna Middlebrook (trainee).

Philip Duffy, managing director of Duff & Phelps said: "Sceptre Leisure underwent a successful financial restructuring process and sale. This leaves it in a stronger position to continue trading in the future. We are pleased that during the process trading carried on as normal, preserving on-going business relationships and 354 jobs."

Chris Roberts added: "We are very pleased to have advised on this restructuring, which has had a positive outcome for all involved. The disposal of the business was effected on an accelerated basis such that there has been no interruption to trading and no redundancies."

Sceptre operates amusement arcade machines across the UK, with more than 25,000 machines being operated from ten regional depots.
