DLA Piper Advises W. P. Carey on a $400 Million "At-The-Market" Offering Program

DLA Piper LLP (US) advised W. P. Carey Inc. on implementing an "at-the-market" offering program, pursuant to which W. P. Carey may, from time to time, sell shares of its common stock having an aggregate gross sales price of up to $400 million.

W. P. Carey Inc. is a self-managed real estate investment trust and a leading global owner and manager of commercial properties, primarily net leased to companies on a long-term basis. Through its investment management business, the company also manages a series of non-traded publicly registered investment programs.

Christopher Giordano and Jon Venick, each of whom played a significant role in connection with W. P. Carey’s reorganization into a REIT and concurrent acquisition of CPA:15 in September 2012, as well as its subsequent acquisition of CPA:16 - Global in January 2014, led a DLA Piper team that included: Bob LeDuc (Minneapolis), Sanjay Shirodkar (Washington, DC), Janessa Griffin (Chicago) and Sarah Ritter (Baltimore).
