DLA Piper advises Yü Energy on its Initial Public Offering

13 Apr 2016

DLA Piper has advised Yü Energy, a Nottingham-based independent supplier of gas and electricity, on its admission on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange, and its successful fundraising of £7.5 million.

Yü Energy is an independent supplier of gas and electricity focused on servicing small and medium enterprises throughout the UK. Over the past few years it has experienced strong growth and the funds being raised will enable the company to accelerate their growth strategy and further expand their operations across the UK.

DLA Piper Corporate partner, Rob McKie, who led on the deal, said: "This fundraising was significantly over-subscribed, which speaks volumes about the quality of the business and demonstrates the real value professional advisers can bring to a deal. The result is testament to how great a business Yü Energy is and to the people who run it so enthusiastically."

The DLA Piper team was led by Corporate partner Rob McKie (Sheffield), assisted by Corporate partner Jon Kenworthy (London) and Corporate associate Liam Freeman (Sheffield), together with Energy sector partner Dimitri Papaesfstratiou (Finance & Projects, London).
