DLA Piper Weiss-Tessbach advises KML on acquisition of Rathgeber Präzisionsteile

08 Feb 2013

DLA Piper Weiss-Tessbach has been advising the Austrian linear technology specialist KML on the acquisition of the engineering firm Rathgeber.

A licensing and service agreement has been signed in connection with the acquisition. In addition a general assembly was held in which the company name was changed to 'KML Precision Machining GmbH' and the founder and managing director of KML was appointed as managing director of the new subsidiary.

KML was founded in 1994 and is known as innovation leader in the field of actuation technology. Engineering, installation, commissioning and service are among the core business of the company. Currently, KML in Vienna has about 45 employees, of which one-third in the design and development.

"We are pleased that the transaction could be completed successfully and on schedule. The extremely tight time frame - due diligence, contract creation and signing had to be closed within two weeks - required precise planning and a perfect cooperation of our transaction team. This has been excellently mastered by our experienced team", says Christoph Mager, partner and head of the Vienna Corporate practice.

In addition to Christoph Mager the two senior associates Suzy Park and Johanna Höltl were part of the transaction team.
