DWF advises Williams Group on acquisition of Stratstone Jaguar Manchester

14 Aug 2015

DWF LLP advised prestige motor retailer, the Williams Group, on its acquisition of Stratstone Jaguar Manchester for an undisclosed sum.

Based on Upper Brook Street in Manchester, the dealership will now be called Williams Jaguar Manchester, and all current staff will be retained.

This dealership will be the fourteenth in the Williams Group £360m turnover portfolio, which includes BMW, MINI and Motorcycles, with official manufacturer franchises in Bolton, Liverpool, Manchester, Rochdale and Stockport.

Nick Cook, Williams Group Managing Director, said: “This acquisition is key to strengthening our already substantial presence within the North West.

“Williams Jaguar Manchester will be a valuable asset to our expanding business. The Jaguar franchise is a premium player in the market, and given our current relationship with Jaguar Land Rover Limited, will prove a perfect fit for the Williams Group.

“This year is particularly exciting for Jaguar, with the introduction of a number of new models including the XE, a second generation XF and the all new SUV range, commencing with the F-Pace which makes it debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.”

The DWF team consisted of Frank Shephard, Nick Hawthorne, Ben Sims (Corporate) and David Walton (Property).

Frank Shephard, Corporate Partner who led the deal, said “This represents a great deal for the Williams Group and a real team effort. We have a long term relationship with the Williams Group having worked with them on a number of acquisitions in recent years and look forward to working with Nick and the team in the future as the Group continues to strengthen its position in the market.”
