Eversheds Bianchini, the Italian arm of global law firm Eversheds, has advised La Rinascente, the historic Italian brand in the retail sector, on the acquisition of Illum Department Store in Copenhagen from Solstra Capital Partners.

Illum is a prime location of 22,000 square meters with 6.5 million visitors founded in 1891 and is located on the most important shopping street of the Danish capital. The acquisition represents the first major overseas acquisition closed by La Rinascente in its international growth strategy.

The Eversheds Bianchini team, who assisted La Rinascente in the acquisition was coordinated by Alvise Dona dalle Rose, Partner of the firm and assisted by the associate Nicola Zito. Marco Melisse, Partner and head of the tax department, provided an international tax advice. The team advised La Rinascente in all the stages of the transaction.
