Eversheds advises on relocation of Microsoft Deutschland HQ

Eversheds in Germany has advised Microsoft Deutschland GmbH on relocating its headquarters from Unterschleißheim to Munich, Parkstadt Schwabing.

Construction work on the 26,000 m^2 site at Parkstadt Schwabing will begin in 2014 and the corporation’s 1,800 employees are due to move into the new building in summer 2016.  The new headquarters will offer modern working conditions and technology as well as numerous meeting rooms, open spaces, retreat spaces, informal lounges, cafes and sports facilities. ARGENTA Group, based in Munich, will develop the new headquarters for Microsoft Deutschland.

The team advising Microsoft Deutschland was led by partner Gerhard Molt and included Wolfgang Hierl, and Alexander Hofmann.

Wolfgang Hierl and Alexander Hofmann also recently advised Microsoft on the opening of the new Microsoft Center Unter den Linden in Berlin which was opened on 7 November. In the historic building, located at the junction of Unter den Linden and Charlottenstraße in Berlin-Mitte, Microsoft offers, in addition to office space, an event area for approximately 400 guests, meeting space for discussions with partners and business customers and the café "Digital Eatery." The site is approximately 3,000 m^2.

The relocation of the German headquarters and the opening of the Microsoft Center in Berlin were widely reported in the media, including in Suedduetsche, Berliner Morgenpost and Spiegel.
