Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP has advised Hamleys, The Finest Toy Shop in the World, in relation to the grant of franchise rights for Malaysia.

Field Fisher Waterhouse IP senior associate Gordon Drakes led the team which advised Hamleys on the completion of Malaysian franchise law formalities and its negotiations with Global Retail Venture (GRV) Toy Shop, an experienced retail operator and licensee for the likes of Blue Inc, Collezione, BHS, Monsoon/Accessorize and Jane Norman.

The parties agreed a franchise development agreement which will see the roll out of up to four Hamleys stores over the next two to three years with the first store due to open in Kuala Lumpur by early December this year.
