Squire Patton Boggs has advised the UK’s largest independent hotel group, Bespoke Hotels, on an agreement to design and develop a new five-star luxury hotel in Sun Street, part of the One Crown Place mixed-use development in London. The firm also acted for Bespoke Hotels on the launch of Hotel Gotham in Manchester, which opened in 2015.
The Sun Street hotel, which spans five floors across six Georgian townhouses, is planned to launch in early 2020. Bespoke Hotels will take a 25 year lease of the luxury hotel on completion of the development works which will create 41 rooms, a restaurant and bar, a private members' clubhouse and deli store at the property. The One Crown Place scheme is owned by AlloyMtd Group, a Malaysian infrastructure development company, which is using CBRE to project manage the development and the finished scheme.
Bespoke Hotels represents over 200 properties worldwide. Founded in 2000 by Haydn Fentum and Robin Sheppard, Bespoke now manages more than 9,500 hotel rooms, 8,000 employees and £815 million of assets.
The Squire Patton Boggs team advising Bespoke Hotels was led by Manchester Real Estate director Claire Hilton, with construction elements led by Manchester Real Estate partner Julian Scott.
