Freshfields advises on Avolon's IPO

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised Avolon’s principal shareholders Cinven, CVC Capital Partners, Oak Hill Capital Partners and GIC on Avolon’s IPO and listing on the NYSE.

Freshfields also advised the principal shareholders and Avolon on the M&A process which Avolon ran as part of its dual track process.

Avolon is an aircraft leasing company, headquartered in Ireland.

The Freshfields team was led by David Higgins, Robert Murphy and Sam Tabak, alongside corporate senior associates Charles Hayes and Victoria Sigeti and associate Tamara Young. US capital markets advice was provided by Simone Bono and Sarah Murphy.

Freshfields previously advised Avolon on its US$1.4 billion initial capital raise, including a US$750 million equity commitment from Cinven, CVC Capital Partners and Oak Hill Capital Partners in May 2010. It also advised Avolon on its equity syndication in 2011, and further capital raising involving a US$300 million equity commitment from GIC in 2012 and on a wide range of other projects including debt financing and aircraft portfolio purchases.
