Freshfields has advised Bridgepoint on the acquisition of Sapec Agro Business

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (‘Freshfields’) has advised Bridgepoint on the acquisition of Sapec Agro Business, the agribusiness subsidiary of the listed conglomerate Sapec S. A. BE, in a transaction valuing the business at €456 million.

Headquartered in Portugal, Sapec Agro Business is the Iberian market leader in off-patent crop protection products and speciality crop nutrition. Sapec Agro Business is the leader in crop protection in Portugal and is one of the global leaders in crop nutrition with sales in over 70 countries. In 2015 the business generated revenues of €223 million.

The Freshfields team was led by corporate partner Javier Monzón and finance partner Ana López, with partner Francisco Cantos advising on antitrust aspects. 

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.
