Freshfields advises TPG and IvanhoƩ Cambridge on its acquisition of PointPark Properties

18 Oct 2013

Leading international law firm, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, has advised TPG, a leading global private investment firm, and Ivanhoé Cambridge, one of the world’s largest real estate companies, on their acquisition of PointPark Properties (P3) from Arcapita, the international investment company.

P3 is a specialist investor, developer and asset manager of warehouse properties, providing first-class service to logistics, retail, automotive and electronics manufacturing companies. Its real estate assets consist of 48 warehouses and a land bank allowing for the development of more than 590,000 m2 of warehouse space across Europe.

The Freshfields team was led by partners Alex Watt, Bruce Embley and Jeffrey Rubinoff, assisted by senior associates Charles Hayes, Mike Reid and Kimberly Lyons, and supported by partners and associates in London, Paris, Cologne, Amsterdam, Milan and New York.

Alex Watt commented: ‘This transaction reflects the continued interest in European logistics assets. This complex deal follows the acquisition of the Woolgate Exchange in the City of London earlier this year which we also advised TPG and Ivanhoé Cambridge on. The breadth of the jurisdictions involved and the complexity of the deal structure played to the strengths of our pan-European, cross-practice team which enabled TPG and Ivanhoé Cambridge to deliver on a very tight timetable.
