GSK advises Helaba on the financing of Gothaer Versicherungen headquarters in Cologne

The headquarters of Gothaer Versicherungen was sold to a consortium of Aurec Capital and an Israeli insurance company by means of a sale and leaseback transaction. GSK Stockmann + Kollegen has advised Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen on the co-financing of the property located at the districts of Cologne Bayenthal and Zollstock.

About 100,000 sqm rental space in four buildings of the complex are used by the insurance company and have been leased back for the next 15 years. With this transaction Gothaer aims to further diversify its real estate portfolio, the company said. The revenue shall be reinvested in different properties in Germany. The buyer, Aurec Capital, is a private investor with offices in Berlin, Tel Aviv and New York, its co-investor is a leading Israeli insurance company.

GSK comprehensively advised Helaba Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen on drafting and negotiating the finance documents as well as on real estate, lease and tax law.
