Herbert Smith Freehills has been involved in setting up the financing aimed at the design, construction, and exploitation of the Brignoles biomass power plant being developed by the Altawest/Inova group and operated by Inova Var Biomasse, with support from the Caisse des dépôts et consignations.

Pursuant to an authorisation from the CRE (energy regulatory body), Inova has been authorised to operate a 21.5MWc electric energy production plant using forest biomass.

Herbert Smith Freehills advised the borrower and the Caisse des dépôts et consignations, with Eric Fiszelson (partner), Laure Bonin, of counsel, and Orane Mikolajayk on financing, and Christophe Lefort (partner) and Mathias Dantin on public law aspects and project contracts. They were assisted by Hubert Segain (partner) and Olivier Jouffroy on corporate aspects.

De Pardieu Brocas Maffei advised the arranger and the banking pool made up of CECAZ, CEPAC, BPIFrance Financement and Natixis with Jean-Renaud Cazali, partner, Antoine Payen and Fabien Communier on financing and contracts.
