A team led by Dr. Jörg aus der Fünten advised family holding company CoBe Capital on the acquisition of hospital bed manufacturer Völker. The seller is Hill-Rom, a medical technology company that Völker had acquired in 2012. The transaction was closed at the end of July 2017. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
 
Headquartered in Witten, Germany, Völker, develops and produces health-care and hospital beds as well as furniture and accessories for clinics, hospitals, and the home care sector in the premium segment. About 35,000 beds are produced annually. In fiscal 2016, the company generated sales of some US-$40 million with almost 300 employees.
 
CoBe Capital intends to work closely with Völker’s management to develop sales and marketing initiatives and to promote the company’s long-term profitability.
 
This is the fourth consecutive transaction in which CoBE Capital has acquired a European business unit from a US-domiciled corporation. CoBe Capital owns and operates a diversified portfolio of companies. The investment firm has branches in New York, Zurich, and Cologne. CoBe Capital offers M&A solutions for non-core and underperforming business units.
