Leading commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised international digital agency Dept on its acquisition of e3creative, one of Manchester’s most successful digital agencies.
Dept, which is backed by Waterland Private Equity, unites creativity, technology and data to help clients reinvent and accelerate their digital reality. Currently, Dept employs a team of over 1000 people operating out of eleven countries in Europe and the USA, with a revenue of over 130 million Euros.
Founded in 2010 by Jake Welsh, e3creative works with forward-thinking brands to create refined, impactful and inspiring digital experiences.
With e3creative joining, Dept strengthens its service portfolio to match client demand, namely creative and digital marketing. e3creative will be able to leverage Dept’s large scale to service its clients with the additional technology stacks that Dept specialises in, combined with its enriched data and intelligence services.
Corporate partner David Mkhitarian led the transaction with support from James Down and Harriet Watson.
Managing Director of Dept UK, Jasper van de Luijtgaarden added: ‘2019 is an important year for Dept in the UK; we’re looking to expand and complete our service portfolio in order to provide our clients with full-service capabilities. We’re one step closer to achieving our growth ambition with e3creative joining and we look forward to combining our strengths to better service our clients.’
Dimi Albers, CEO of Dept, said: ‘We are striving to become one of the leading digital agencies worldwide in the next few years; an ambition we believe is fully achievable by expanding our regional services and on-boarding exciting agencies, such as e3creative.’
