Hill Dickinson advises owner on the sale of Alloy Bodies

08 Jun 2017

The corporate team at international commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has advised on the sale of Greater Manchester-based vehicle body-building specialist Alloy Bodies.

The entire share capital of Alloy Bodies, which operates out of Miles Platting, has been acquired by Scottish based acquiror, The Anderson Group.

Established in the 1930s, The Anderson Group has an annual turnover of £240m and employs 556 people in the UK. Alongside existing significant and award-winning UK commercial truck and van operations, the acquiring group has longstanding interests in haulage and property investment.

Following the deal, Alloy Bodies, which produces over 2,000 commercial vehicle body units a year, will operate under The Anderson Group umbrella as a standalone business with a similar structure as before with the addition of The Anderson Group chief executive Tim Ward taking overall responsibility.

Hill Dickinson’s national head of corporate, Craig Scott and recently promoted corporate partner Michael Murphy led the Hill Dickinson team that advised former managing director and owner of Alloy Bodies, Mike Bragg, on the successful conclusion of the sale process. It is anticipated that Mike Bragg will remain involved with the business in an advisory role for the foreseeable future.
