Hogan Lovells represented Avocet LNG, the developer of a Gulf Coast offshore LNG export facility, in the purchase of Kinetica Deepwater Express LLC’s Grand Chenier system for an undisclosed amount.

The Grand Chenier system comprises jurisdictional transmission and non-jurisdictional gathering facilities designed to gather and transport gas offshore in Louisiana. Avocet LNG plans to repurpose the natural gas system to serve as a part of its Deepwater Port LNG offshore export project, which would consist of storing liquefied natural gas in floating vessels at a newly designed mooring system.

The Hogan Lovells team was led by Houston-based Infrastructure, Energy Resources and Projects partner David Locascio. The team included Washington, D.C.-based counsel Joanne Rotondi, senior associate Sharon Harrington and associate Patricia Duffy.
