Hogan Lovells advised OUTFRONT Media in its successful bid for the renewal of its advertising concession on the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) bus, subway, and commuter rail systems. The public-private partnership presents new opportunities for the MTA to provide real-time and intelligent communications to its customers while generating advertising revenue.
Following the execution of definitive agreements, working with the MTA, OUTFRONT will deploy over 50,000 cutting edge digital displays across MTA’s entire network of stations and rolling stock on the subway, Long Island Rail Road, and Metro North Rail Road beginning in 2018 and continuing on a rolling basis. The installation will be the largest deployment of digital media in a transit environment anywhere, covering over 700 stations and over 8,800 railcars. The screens will be used for both customer communications by MTA, providing route information and travel alerts in real time, and commercial advertisements..
OUTFRONT Media connects brands with consumers through one of the largest and most diverse sets of billboard, transit, and mobile assets in North America. Through its ON Smart Media platform, OUTFRONT Media implements digital technology that will fundamentally change the ways advertisers engage people on-the-go.
Partner Mike Matheou, senior associate Justin Niswander, and associate Stephanie Parker in New York represented OUTFRONT.
