International law firm Hogan Lovells has advised Synopsys in its acquisition of Sidense Corporation, a leading provider of one-time programmable (OTP) non-volatile memory (NVM) for automotive, mobile, industrial, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Synopsys, the world's 15th largest software company, is a leading provider of high-quality, silicon-proven IP solutions for SoC designs. The acquisition will complement the company's Multi-Time Programmable (MTP) NVM IP solution with OTP NVM IP in 16-bit to 1.28-Mbit configurations in its broad DesignWare® IP portfolio, which includes logic libraries, embedded memories, embedded test, analog IP, wired and wireless interface IP, security IP, embedded processors, and subsystems.
The Hogan Lovells team was led by Silicon Valley partners Rick Climan and Jane Ross, and associate Lauren Zachry. They were assisted by IP partner John Brockland, IP associates Max Scott and Whei Hain, and Employee Benefits partner and associate Carin Carithers and Meg McIntyre.
This is the third technology acquisition that the Hogan Lovells NorCal team has announced this month. Earlier this month Hogan Lovells also announced that it advised Synopsys on its acquisition of QuantumWise, a leading provider of simulation tools for materials modeling in early manufacturing process development. A Silicon Valley-based Hogan Lovells team also advised Dialog Semiconductor, a UK-based provider of highly integrated power management, in its acquisition of Santa Clara's Silego Technology, the leading provider of Configurable Mixed-signal ICs, for US$279 million.
