Jeantet has advised the Spotify group on its acquisition of Niland, a French start-up which has developed a music recommendation tool based on artificial intelligence, from, in particular, its founders and various financial investors.
This acquisition follows the one, completed in 2014, of The Echo Nest, an American start-up also specialised in music recommendations.
The Jeantet team included Thierry Brun, partner (M&A), Frédéric Sardain, partner (IP/IT), Marianne Chevallier, Maxime Brotz and Albéric Simunek, associates (M&A), and Sophie Boinnot, associate (IP/IT).
The sellers were advised by the law firm DidieretLevy and more specifically by Philippe Didier, partner, and Marc Corbin, associate, and by the investment bank Inflexion Points Technology Partners and in particular by Hubert Catanese and Frédéric Aries, partners.
