King & Wood Mallesons has advised the AA, the UK’s largest breakdown cover organisation, in connection with the establishment of a roadside assistance joint venture with TVS Automobile Solutions Limited in India.
With approximately four million members and nine million B2B customers, the AA represents over 40 per cent of the UK’s roadside assistance market. The AA will take a 49% share of the joint venture, giving the AA the opportunity to leverage this operational expertise and its strong relationships with car manufacturers through TVS's network.
TVS Automobile Solutions Limited is a roadside assistance business based in India and a subsidiary of TVS & Sons, the Indian automotive conglomerate.
Andrew Wingfield, Corporate partner at King & Wood Mallesons, said: “We are delighted to have assisted the AA with this exciting new joint venture in India's rapidly growing roadside assistance market. We continue to build our relationship with the AA as their principal external legal adviser, leveraging the strengths across our firm to advise on the AA's refinancing earlier this year and also the new strategic relationship with the Bank of Ireland."
The King & Wood Mallesons team was comprised of Corporate partners Andrew Wingfield and Tim Bednall.
