King & Wood Mallesons advises Vivendi on the deployment of its project "CanalOlympia" in Africa

King & Wood Mallesons had advised Vivendi on the deployment of its CanalOlympia movie and shows theatre project on the African continent. The launch of the first CanalOlympia venue took place in Yaounde, Cameroon on Tuesday 14 June.

The CanalOlympia halls are based on an original architectural design allowing them to host 300 people in an interior configuration and several thousands in an outdoor configuration. They feature digital projection and sound equipment and are the most modern and eco-friendly. This project is part of a network of dozens of halls that will be gradually deployed in Central and West Africa over the coming months.

Vivendi is an integrated media and content group. The company operates businesses throughout the media value chain, from talent discovery to the creation, production and distribution of content. Vivendi is composed of many leading enterprises, amongst with the Canal+ group, its subsidiary Studiocanal, Vivendi Village (which brings together Vivendi Ticketing, MyBestPro, Watchever, Radionomy and the Paris-based concert venue L’Olympia) as well as Dailymotion.

King & Wood Mallesons worked on the legal structuring and the deployment of this environmentally responsible project ran in Cameroon through the company « Talents et Spectacles Cameroun ».
