K&L Gates Advises Signal Energy on 333MW Darlington Solar Farm

04 Feb 2019
Melbourne - Global law firm K&L Gates has advised Signal Energy Australia Pty Ltd (Signal), a subsidiary of American energy company Signal Energy LLC, on its appointment as joint engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor of the 333MW Darlington Point Solar Farm. Edify Energy and Octopus Investments were the project sponsor.

Located in New South Wales, the farm will be the one of the largest solar projects in Australia, producing enough renewable energy to meet the needs of more than 115,000 homes. The Darlington Point Solar Farm marks Signal’s second project in Australia, with a start date in March 2019 and expected completion in 2020.

The K&L Gates team advising Signal on the EPC contract was led by energy, infrastructure and resources partner Luke Westmore, who was assisted by lawyer Rachel McNally.

Westmore said: “We are delighted to have worked with the Signal Energy team, both in Australia and the United States, on the 333MW Darlington Point Solar Farm, one of Australia's largest solar projects to date. It is fantastic to see the continued growth of large scale solar projects in Australia and we are very proud to continue to be actively involved in these complex and landmark projects.”
