KWM acts on National Storage REIT capital raising

30 Jun 2016

National Storage REIT is a leader in fully-integrated self-storage spaces and was the first of its kind to be listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.

The capital raising will fund the acquisition of 26 storage assets which comprise the Southern Cross portfolio, strengthen NSR’s balance sheet, and fund other potential acquisitions in accordance with NSR’s acquisition strategy.

The King & Wood Mallesons team was led by Corporate M&A partner Stefan Luke, together with senior associate Prue Macleod, and solicitors Mitch Fairbairn and Patrick Schmidt.

Commenting on the deal, partner Stefan Luke said: “We are delighted to once again support the National Storage team in securing funding for another significant deal. This capital raising positions the group to continue implementing a busy pipeline of acquisition opportunities.”

The KWM team acted on the initial public offering and listing of National Storage REIT in 2013 and its recent capital raisings in 2014 (fully underwritten institutional placement and security purchase plan to raise approximately $46 million) and 2015 (fully underwritten institutional placement to raise approximately $58 million).
