24 Jul 2018

KWM has advised BlueScope on entering a power purchase agreement (PPA) with ESCO Pacific for the 133MWac Finley Solar Farm, the fifth major corporate PPA which KWM has recently advised on and which has been announced to the market.

ESCO Pacific will invest $250 million dollars into the project, which will comprise of approximately 500,000 solar panels – generating energy for approximately 60,000 homes.

The KWM’s lead Partner on the deal, Vishal Ahuja, said: “We are proud to have supported BlueScope in entering into this agreement, continuing the trend of major corporates to directly underwrite renewable generation. KWM has advised a number of corporates on their entry into the renewable PPAs to manage their electricity requirements. KWM has leveraged that experience to help BlueScope achieve its renewable energy ambitions”.

Vishal was supported by Associate Paul Scott.

KWM has recently acted on a number of corporate PPAs, including the Kiama Solar Farm, Murra Warra Wind Farm, Crowlands Wind Farm and Emerald Solar Farm.
