Concardis GmbH, one of the leading payment service providers in Europe, acquires the Germany-based ICP International Cash Processing GmbH (ICP). The acquisition is still subject to approval by the German Federal Cartel Office. King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) provided legal advice to the ICP-group.
ICP is an independent system operator for card-based payment transactions. ICP has a network operation, its own acquiring portfolio and is authorized to provide payment services as an e-money institution.
Following the acquisition of REA Card Bargeldlose Zahlungssysteme GmbH and German TelePay, with the takeover of ICP Concardis expands its portfolio strategically to the important area of the operation of electronic money transactions, thereby strengthening its market position.
