Danish top-league football club Brøndby IF has just completed a rights issue on NASDAQ Copenhagen, generating proceeds of DKK 100m. LETT provided legal advice in connection with the rights issue, which will serve to strengthen the capital base of the football club.

The rights issue will enable Brøndby IF to become debt-free and to improve its facilities for the benefit of fans as well as sponsors. The club has won the Danish national championships more than 10 times and was the second football club in the world to be listed on a stock exchange.

Today, Brøndby IF is one of Denmark’s biggest football clubs with a huge fan base including supporters across Denmark. It is also the top-league football club enjoying the largest spectator numbers for its Alka top-league matches, which makes the club an attractive partner for sponsors. Since a restructuring in 2013, in which LETT provided assistance, Brøndby IF has seen a considerable increase in income and sees further potential for a reflection of the club’s position in its commercial results.
