Kempinski Hotels SA company v. Lassus & Associés. Kempinski Hotels, who Linklaters’ teams were advising, is Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group with a history of more than 110 years. Law firm Lassus & Associés were Kempinski’s former lawyers and had brought the case before the Paris High Court to order it to pay €19,675,000 for having lost an opportunity to be able to recover a contingency fee. The Paris High Court dismissed all the claims by Lassus & Associés and ordered it to pay the legal costs to Kempinski Hotels SA, advised by partner Kiril Bougartchev, counsel Emmanuel Moyne and associate Gille Goasguen in a judgment dated 22 October 2013.
