Linklaters advises Mitsubishi Corporation

Linklaters advised Mitsubishi Corporation on its acquisition of a 50% stake in a 55 MW tranche in the Toul-Rosières PV plant. EDF EN owns the remaining 50% interest. This is the first time Mitsubishi Corporation invests in a PV asset in France and collaborates with EDF EN to own a large scale power asset.

This tranche is part of the ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant project with a total capacity of 115 MWc, located in the former NATO military air base of Toul-Rosières, in Meurthe-et-Moselle, near Nancy. The Linklaters team was led by François April, Partner in banking and projects. He was assisted by Mark Barges, Samuel Bordeleau and Vivien Bon on banking and projects matters and Fanny Mahler on public law aspects. Olivier d’Ormesson, Partner, assisted by Patrice Boulkeroua and Matthieu Blayney, advised on competition matters and Thomas Perrot, Partner, assisted by Cyril Boussion, advised on tax aspects. Linklaters in Paris is regularly involved in major transactions in the energy sector in France. Linklaters in Paris has notably recently advised GDF Suez on the merger of its international energy division with International Power, on the acquisition by China Investment Corporation (CIC) of a 30% stake in its Exploration & Production division and of a 10% stake in the LNG Atlantic liquefaction plant in Trinidad and Tobago. Linklaters is also one of the first firms to have created a team specifically dedicated to renewable energy within its international network. Member of the SER (Syndicate of Renewable Energy), Linklaters in Paris has real expertise in this sector. Apart from advising EDF EN on the public tender offer for 100% of EDF EN by EDF, Linklaters Paris has also been involved in numerous financings, partnerships and acquisitions of renewable energy assets. In 2012 alone, Linklaters Paris has advised banks and sponsors in a large number of French ground and roof mounted solar projects, with an aggregate installed capacity of close to 270 MW.
