Linklaters advised the shareholder of ILUMARK GmbH on the sale of his company to IZI Medical Products LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Landauer Inc. The parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.
ILUMARK, having its seat in Feldkirchen near Munich, is a company focusing on development, production, and sale of sterile, single-use retro-reflective markers for image-guided surgery systems using passive tracking technology. In surgery, the marker spheres are attached to the surgical instruments so that infrared cameras can track the reflective marker spheres; the diagnostic patient images are referenced to the real anatomy of the patient.
IZI Medical Products is a leading developer, manufacturer, and distributor of high quality medical devices and consumable accessories used in radiology, radiation therapy, and image-guided surgery procedures. The company is based in Baltimore (Maryland) and is active in 25 countries worldwide.
For more than 55 years, Landauer has been providing integrated radiation safety products and services, including occupational radiation monitoring, professional medical physics, quality medical products, and market-leading radiation dosimetry technology to measure and monitor radiation exposure.
A Linklaters team led by Dr Timo Engelhardt and Holger Ebersberger (both Corporate, Munich) advised on the deal. The team also included Andreas Schaflitzl (Tax, Munich), Peter Cohen-Millstein (Corporate, New York), Dr Christian Ley (Employment, Munich), Stephanie Wiesner (Tax, Munich), Megan Ridley-Kaye (Corporate, New York), and Jennifer Kramar (Corporate, Munich).
