Linklaters has advised the shareholder of the Küpper Group on the sale of its group of companies. Purchaser is an special purpose vehicle held by Amtek India Limited.
Küpper Group offers the production of iron and aluminum die cast finished parts as well as the finishing of forged parts under one roof. Küpper Group, founded in 1921 in Velbert, employs about 800 people and is an internationally renowned partner of the automotive industry – with production facilities from Germany to Hungary. The group’s generates an estimated turnover of about EUR 200 million. The contractual partners have agreed to maintain silence with respect to the purchase price.
The acquisition of the Küpper Group is Amtek Group's second major acquisition in Europe this year. The completion of the transaction is subject to several conditions precedent (among others: cartel clearance) which are expected to be fulfilled by end of March 2014.
Amtek Group is one of the largest providers of automotive components in India and Amtek India Limited is its flagship company. On the one hand, the sale and the intended integration into the Amtek Group offers significantly expanded capacities in integrated manufacturing in a highly synergistic product range as well as high quality iron and aluminium die cast capabilities to the Küpper Group. On the other hand, Amtek, by purchasing the Küpper Group, is expanding its existing portfolio of manufacturing sites in Germany. And, since the Küpper Group is also present in Hungary, Amtek is at the same time strengthening its market presence in Europe.
