Luther Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH advised the Austrian group Hammerer Aluminium (HAI) on the acquisition of an extrusion plant in Soest. Seller is Martinrea Honsel Germany GmbH, a company of the Canadian automotive supplier Martinrea.

The extrusion plant located in Soest employs approx. 245 people. By taking over the plant, including its premises, HAI intensifies the extrusion sector (manufacture of aluminium profiles). In future, the extrusion plant belongs to the newly founded company HAI Extrusion Germany GmbH, a subsidiary of HAI, which will continue operations in Soest as before. With this acquisition, HAI is going to strengthen its position as automotive supplier.

The purchase agreement was already signed in mid-June 2015. At the beginning of August, clearance for the merger was given by the Austrian Competition Authority.

Luther already advised HAI at the beginning of 2013 on the acquisition of RIFTEC GmbH (Geesthacht, Germany), a specialist in the field of welding technology.
