Luther advises Getreide AG on sale of another subisdiary

24 Feb 2016

Hamburg - Getreide AG has sold Brandenburg-based Landhandel GmbH Gransee to ATR Landhandel GmbH & Co. KG.  In the transaction, Getreide AG was assisted by Luther lawfirm and relied on proven advisors: In 2014, Luther had already supported the agricultural group during the sale of a majority of its agricultural trade activities to  the Danish Dava Agravis. At the time, the deal included nine companies with about 60 locations (see Press Release).

In mid-February  2016, Getreide AG (Rendsburg/Schleswig-Holstein) sold its last agricultural trade subisidiary, Landhandel GmbH Gransee, to ATR Landhandel GmbH Ratzeburg/Schleswig-Holstein).

Originally, it was planned to sell Landhandel GmbH Gransee to Dava Agravis within the context of the large transaction in 2014. However, the cartel office raised competetive concerns regarding the locations of Landhandel GmbH Gransee. Landhandel GmbH Gransee was therefore removed from the sale to Dava Agravis and remained with
Getreide AG.

With Landhandel  GmbH  Gransee,  ATR  Landhandel  is  now  taking over  the  locations  in  Gransee,  Fehrbellin,  Glöwen,  Parchim  and Pritzwalk  and  is  thereby  expanding  its  area  of  operation in  East Germany. Getreide AG continues to be involved in the direct collection and the trade of grains and canola. Confidentiality was agreed upon regarding the purchase price. The  project  has  not  yet been approved by the cartel authorities.
