Macfarlanes has advised Slater and Gordon on its acquisition of Quindell plc’s professional services division for upfront consideration of £637m and an earnout based on the performance of the legacy noise induced hearing loss cases of the business.

The acquisition is conditional on a majority vote by Quindell’s shareholders, scheduled for 16 April, and customary regulatory approvals.

The Macfarlanes team was led by Corporate and M&A partner John Dodsworth with support from Rupert Casey and Malcolm Walton (Commercial, IP and IT), Dan Marriott (Real Estate), Seán Lavin (Employment) and Mark Baldwin (Tax).
