Nabarro has acted for new client Publicis, one of the world's largest advertising and communications agencies, turning around a deal in just five weeks to agree pre-lets on two central London properties being redeveloped by Derwent London. The deal consolidates the extensive property holdings of Publicis in Charlotte Street and allows them to take an option over an additional building, Asta House.
It is understood that following completion and fit-out of both sites in 2014, Publicis will move part of its business to the Turnmills building on 63 Clerkenwell Road, while its iconic ad agency, Saatchi & Saatchi, is expected to move to 40 Chancery Lane, the second of the two properties owned by Derwent.
Nicholas Vergette, Real Estate partner, led the Nabarro team which included fellow partners Andrew Banton and Rhodri Pazzi-Axworthy in Real Estate, Jennifer Rickard from Real Estate Dispute Resolution who advised on consent order and vacant possession issues, Matthew Jones in Construction, Joshua Risso-Gill in Planning and Michael Cant in Tax.
Commenting on the transaction, Nicholas Vergette, said: "The experience, knowledge and strength in depth of the Nabarro team meant that we were able to exchange a very complicated deal in just five weeks for a valued and delighted new client. We're pleased to be acting for a globally renowned business like Publicis and look forward to the opportunity of supporting its property requirements in the future."
Speechly Bircham, Berwin Leighton Paisner and Taylor Wessing acted for Derwent London on different aspects of the deal.
