Noerr advises Rocket Internet on expansion of Global Online Takeaway Group and further investment in Delivery Hero

08 May 2015

Noerr has advised Rocket Internet SE on the significant expansion of the world’s leading platform for mobile food delivery services, Global Online Takeaway Group, as well as on a further investment in the internet platform Delivery Hero. The Noerr team advising Rocket was led by the Berlin partner Dr Sascha Leske.

In the course of Delivery Hero’s acquisition of Yemeksepeti, Turkey’s leading provider of mobile food delivery services, Rocket contributed its 11.4 per cent share in Yemeksepeti to Delivery Hero Holding GmbH and invested another EUR 61.3 million in Delivery Hero. This increases Rocket’s share in Delivery Hero to over 40 per cent.

The acquisition of Yemeksepeti, as well as of e-Food, the market leader in Greece which has also been taken over by Delivery Hero, strengthens the Global Online Takeaway Group, i.e. the entity in which Rocket bundles its shareholdings in the field of mobile food delivery services. Overall, the group is now active in 71 countries and is the world’s market leader in this segment.

With its Private Equity and Venture Capital Group in the field of growth capital/venture capital, Noerr is among the leading law firms and regularly advises on important investments, buyouts and financing rounds. Only recently a Noerr team handled the sale of the hearing aids specialist audibene to Sivantos group/EQT. Noerr already advised Rocket on its initial investment in Delivery Hero.
