14 Mar 2017

Norton Rose Fulbright has advised HomeServe International Limited (HomeServe), a leading global provider of home emergency and repair services, on its strategic alliance with utilities company Edison Energia S.p.A (Edison Energia).

Edison Energia has acquired 51% of the share capital of Assistenza Casa S.r.l (Assistenza Casa), HomeServe’s Italian group of companies.

Assistenza Casa has more than 50 employees, a network of around 1,400 independent traders throughout Italy and 300,000 customers. Following the alliance Edison will be able to offer its customers additional services including electrical system repair, gas and plumbing, installation and maintenance of boilers and air conditioners, as well as the installation of smart systems.

Nicolò Juvara, partner and head of the Italy office at Norton Rose Fulbright commented:

“We are delighted to have advised HomeServe on this strategic alliance. This deal is indicative of the ongoing trend of convergence in the consumer market for energy and home services as we continue to see businesses moving towards a highly digitalised environment and the development of “smart homes.””

The Norton Rose Fulbright team was led by Nicolò Juvara with assistance from of counsel Cristina Gabardi.
