Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund, a specialist infrastructure fund set up by Australian investment bank Macquarie, on the acquisition of Sorgenia Green Srl (“Sorgenia Green”). Sorgenia Green is a developer, operator and manager of onshore wind sites across France and Italy.
Sorgenia Green’s Italian wind business comprises a 112 MW portfolio of operational wind assets and its French wind business, a 50:50 joint venture with KKR Infrastructure, has a 165 MW portfolio of operational wind assets and a development pipeline of 40 MW of projects, which have already received regulatory approval. The transaction closed on March 31, 2015.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team advising Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund was led by Arturo Sferruzza, head of the banking and energy practices in Italy, assisted by partner Gennaro Mazzuoccolo and senior associate Elisabetta Negrini, who coordinated the due diligence, and by Marcello Ciampi, for corporate and M&A matters.
