Olswang advises advertising technology business Captify Media in securing £8 million of Series B funding

15 Jul 2015

Olswang has advised London-based Captify Media, one of the fastest growing advertising technology businesses in Europe, in securing £8 million in Series B funding from venture capital firm Smedvig Capital.

Founded in 2011, Captify is a market leader in search retargeting, having developed the largest independent search data network in Europe. Working with more than 88 media agencies in the UK and over 100 in Europe, Captify runs campaigns on behalf of some of the world's largest brands, including Micorsoft, Warner Brothers and Sky. Its latest injection of investment will enable the company to further invest in its search intelligence technology, expand its product suite and accelerate its international expansion.

Captify received £1.2 million of Series A investment from Panoramic Growth Equity in 2013, and within two years it has increased its gross revenue by nearly 300%.

Captify CEO Dominic Joseph commented: "Olswang's assistance was invaluable every step of the way. Anthony Waller and his team's technical understanding of our industry, and their legal, and more importantly, commercial advice was crucial to ensuring the smooth completion of the fundraise. Their all-around support and expertise was a true asset, enabling us to complete the fundraise on time and with minimal disruption to our business. We look forward to our continuing expansion with them at our side."

"It was a pleasure to support Captify on this critical Series B fundraise," said Olswang's Head of Technology and Corporate Partner Anthony Waller. "Adtech is a fascinating, rapidly expanding sector, and one that we at Olswang have been actively engaged in as it transforms and challenges the traditional advertising model. We are delighted to be working with Captify - a true leader in the UK and European adtech market."

The Olswang team was led by Corporate Partner Anthony Waller with assistance from Corporate Associate Tom Jameson, IP Partner Justin Hill and Tax Associate Rebecca Griffiths.
