International law firm Olswang has advised the shareholders of Cablecom Networking Holdings Limited, including private equity firm ISIS Equity Partners, on its sale to Inflexion Private Equity.
Inflexion will support the company through the next phase of its growth, with ISIS reinvesting on behalf of the Baronsmead VCTs for a minority stake in the business.
CableCom designs, installs and delivers a managed internet service inclusive of a customer centric digital media platform. Its two main digital media platforms, StudentCom and LivingCom serve some of the highest density (multiple occupancy) accommodation sectors, e.g. the higher education sector and the social housing sector, delivering landlord specific applications and tenant specific content. The business operates across attractive niche markets serving various communities in the University space, local authority social housing, key worker accommodation and the private residential sector (PRS).
CableCom provides its digital media services to well over 500 locations throughout the UK. Clients include MediaCity UK, Unite, UPP and Thames Valley Housing Association, and a number of universities including the University of Exeter and the London School of Economics.
The shareholders of CableCom were also advised by PWC (Corporate Finance) and Momentum Corporate Finance (Management Advisory).
Mark Burchfield, CEO at Cablecom, commented: "The Olswang team led by Stephen Rosen came in at the time of the 2007 deal and helped us with a key acquisition and cemented themselves as a key adviser for the management team. They ran a superb process with clear, commercial and where necessary robust advice and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to other selling shareholders."
Stephen Rosen, Head of Private Equity at Olswang, commented: "Having acted for Isis on its original investment back in 2007, advising on the successful sale of Cablecom felt like a natural progression to our relationship with both teams. Under Mark's leadership and with the support from Isis, the business has grown significantly and our technology and media expertise has allowed us to assist the company during its growth. We know that Mark and his team will continue to develop and grow the business and it will be exciting to see this evolve".
The Olswang team was led by Private Equity Head Stephen Rosen and assisted by Corporate Associate Julian Pitcher.
